Nestled in the picturesque and fertile region of Caserta, Italy, the Torre Lupara farm is a haven for water buffalo, where each day is carefully orchestrated to ensure the well-being and productivity of these magnificent creatures. From the early hours of the morning to the quiet of the night, the daily routine at Torre Lupara is a testament to the company’s commitment to quality and care. 

3:30 AM: Awakening and Health Checks 

As the first light of dawn begins to hint at the horizon, the buffalo at Torre Lupara are already beginning their day. At approximately 03:30 AM, the animals awaken for a thorough cleaning and gynecological examination, ensuring that any health issues are promptly addressed. 

04:00 AM: The First Milking 

By 04:00 AM, the buffalo are ready for the first milking session of the day. This milk is the cornerstone of the farm’s renowned Torre Lupara Buffalo Mozzarella, a delicacy cherished for its rich and creamy texture. The milking process is conducted with utmost care, ensuring both the comfort of the animals and the quality of the milk. Afterall, happy buffalo produce more and better-quality milk!  

07:00 – 12:00 PM: Feeding Time 

From 07:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the buffalo are treated to a nutritious meal. The fodder, sourced directly from the farm’s fields, is carefully selected to provide a rich and healthy diet.  

10:30 AM: Leisure and Social Time 

At around 10:30 AM, the buffalo enjoy some leisure time. The farm opens its swimming pools, allowing the animals to cool off and socialize. This period of free time is essential for their physical and mental well-being, providing a chance to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of Torre Lupara. 

Daily Activities: Health and Maintenance 

Throughout the day, various activities are conducted based on the needs and routines of the buffalo. Veterinary staff perform regular health checks, and some buffalo receive pedicures to ensure their hooves are in good condition. Newborn calves are also given special attention, with their first outings and routine checks being a highlight. Additionally, visitors to the farm may have the opportunity to meet the buffalo and learn about their care and lifestyle. 

04:00 PM: The Second Milking and Evening Rest 

As the day winds down, the second milking session begins at 04:00 PM. After milking, the buffalo gradually return to their stables, where they can rest and rejuvenate for the next full and happy day.
